Castaway Chalet Description

Lovely, light and bright St. Francis town home with great lake views from the upstairs living and dining rooms.  The St. Francis complex is beautifully maintained with grassy areas, a lovely pool for summer use, tennis courts, a seasonal outdoor and indoor hot tub* and a private beach and pier to enjoy in the summer.  The location is ideal, just a couple of minutes drive to Tahoe City.

This home's reverse floor plan has a great room on the upstairs level to maximize water views from the living room and dining room. The great room is an open plan that's ideal for entertaining with lots of comfy seating, and a large dining table that seats up to eight. There are five Bluetooth speakers to sync your vacation soundtrack in this space. A Scandavian designed kitchen is clean and bright with ample storage and counter space.  There a nice lake view deck off the dining room and a second lake view deck off the living room. There is also a full bathroom on this upper level.  Recent updates to this home include a new dishwasher, washer and dryer, and new window treatments in the living room. 

All three bedrooms are located downstairs on the entry level.  The first bedroom is a bunk room with a queen on the bottom and a twin on top, the second bedroom has a queen bed. In the hall you'll find the full guest bath for these two bedrooms.  The master bedroom has a queen bed and en-suite full bath.

Enjoy the easy lakeside location with proximity to Tahoe City's farmers market, shopping, dining. You can access the nearby bike path and ride into town for morning coffee, or a full day excursion down the West Shore.

Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are less than 20 minutes away. Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area is less than 2 miles up the road, with access to miles of scenic groomed nordic trails.

**Painting project will be taking place on Spring 2022. During this time some windows and decks may be unavailable. 

*Hot tub closed after Labor Day. Indoor Spa open from Thanksgiving through spring.

California is prone to wildfires. Please be advised that we don't move, cancel, or refund reservations due to air quality or smoke in the area as this is out of our control. 

Like the vast majority of homes in the Tahoe area, please be advised that this home has no A/C and the decks and BBQ grill are NOT available during the winter months.

PLEASE NOTE: This home may be equipped with outdoor surveillance cameras and electric bear fencing that are utilized for security and bear activity in the area. These cameras in no way infringe upon guests' privacy, and monitor exterior portions of the home exclusively. Decks and BBQ grills may NOT be available during winter months, exterior areas may be icy. This home is not equipped with AC. Per Placer County Short term rental laws, quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am, and no street parking is permitted at any time, including boats and trailers. We recommend purchasing 3rd party trip insurance if you have concerns about canceling your reservation.   Wells & Bennett Realtors requires $500 of your reservation total due upon booking and the remainder due sixty days prior to check-in.

Cancellation Policy / Cancellation fee: If cancellation is made more than 60 days of arrival, a cancellation fee of $100 plus the 4% booking fee will be applied.
If the cancellation is made within 60 (or less) days of arrival, the entire rent will be retained unless Wells and Bennett Realtors is able to re-rent the specified property.
If the property is re-rented, a cancellation fee of $100 plus the 4% booking fee will still apply, but the remainder of rent will be refunded after the replacement guests have checked out.

Holiday Booking Policy
Christmas- 5-7 night minimum stay required. Must check out by 12/28 at latest, to allow 7 days for a New Years Reservation
New Years- 7 night minimum stay required. 
NO CHECK-INS, OR CHECK-OUTS ON 12/24, 12/25 OR 1/1.
