Snowshoeing is a great way to get outside, breathe the crisp mountain air, and take in beautiful views of the lake. There are plenty of groomed trails that can be used for snowshoeing, or you can head out into the Mt. Rose Meadows or up Chickadee Ridge for an off-trail experience. Be sure to bring some birdseed to Chickadee Ridge – if you’re lucky, some chickadees might come eat right out of your hand! If you’re looking for a great group experience or you don’t have the gear, you can also go for a guided sunset or full-moon snowshoe tour.
