Lake Tahoe is famous for its crystal clear waters, attracting beach-goers year-round. There are plenty of public beaches dotting the rocky shore, but they do fill up fast on weekends and holidays. Parking can also be limited, so a great option is to pack a bag and take a ride along the bike path, which has beautiful views and access to most beaches. Please remember to leave the beaches clean, and pack out all trash, so everyone can enjoy this natural treasure. Beaches are also accessible by kayak and Stand-Up Paddleboards, but make sure you have a life jacket and extra layers any time you are out on the water. The water can be cold even in the heat of summer, and winds and conditions can change quickly.
